An upper air circulation and westerly trough lies over central Assam and neighbourhood extending to the southern and Eastern parts of Bhutan. A jet stream with its core winds continues to prevail over Bhutan and Northeast India.

Owing to these systems, from 8- 10 April 2026 

• Cloudy conditions with light to moderate rainfall is expected across the country 

• Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely over southern, eastern and isolated places in the central regions.

• Thunderstorms may occur in the above parts of the country.

• Light snowfall is likely over the northern and high-altitude regions 

• Windy conditions are also likely over isolated parts of the country during the same period.
