Meteorological Analysis
A trough runs from above the cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood to Manipur across north Gangetic West Bengal, Bangladesh and Bhutan at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over central Assam and Bhutan at 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Conditions are favourable for advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of southeast Arabian Sea, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman Sea, and some more parts of eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 3- 4 days. The southwest monsoon is likely to set in over Bhutan towards the end of May 2026.
