RECAST-1/2025-26/95 Weather Remarks on Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Date and time of issue: 19 May 2026, 4:30 PM Meteorological Analysis A trough runs from above the cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood to Manipur across north Gangetic West Bengal, Bangladesh and Bhutan at 0.9 km above mean sea level. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over central Assam and Bhutan at 1.5 km above mean sea level. Conditions are favourable for advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of southeast Arabian Sea, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Andaman Sea, and some more parts of eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 3- 4 days. The southwest monsoon is likely to set in over Bhutan towards the end of May 2026. Weather Outlook Owing to these systems, rainfall is expected to continue in the coming days. Weather Forecast 20 May 2026 Mostly cloudy to cloudy weather with light rainfall is expected in some parts of the country. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to continue over many parts of the country. Wind gusts are likely over isolated parts of the country. 21- 22 May 2026 Mostly cloudy to cloudy weather with light rainfall is expected over the country, with light to moderate rainfall mostly over the southern, eastern and isolated central parts of the country. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to continue over many parts of the country. Wind gusts are likely over isolated parts of the country. 23- 28 May 2026 Cloudy weather with light rainfall is expected over the country, with moderate to heavy rainfall over the southern, eastern and isolated central parts of the country. Due to continuous rainfall, flooding and landslides are likely to occur in places in the southern, eastern and isolated parts of the country.
