Weather Advisory on Heavy Rainfall

Date and time of issue: 7 July 2024, 4:00 PM

The Southwest summer monsoon is active over the country. There is a low-pressure system over the region with moisture from the Bay of Bengal. 

Under the influence of the system, cloudy weather with heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over the southwestern (Samtse, Phuntsholing, Tsirang, Dagana) and south-central (Zhemgang, Sarpang) parts of the country from the evening of 8 July to 11 July. The rest of the places can expect  moderate rainfall. 

Continuous rainfall may trigger localised flash floods and landslides in the above areas and isolated places of the country. 

Updates will be issued if there are significant changes in the forecast.
