National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology

Based on the request of Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), NCHM conducted a 5 days Training on “Installation and Operation of Meteorological Station” for Royal Bhutan Army (RBA) officials from 20-24 August, 2018. Nine (9) officials from RBA participated in the training. The four days training includes: 
a. Theoretical background of basic hydro-met science, working principle of instruments, criteria requirement set up weather stations, data collection & calculation procedures;
b. Hands on practical session at site, Semtokha class A station (civil works)
c. About the hard ware components of weather instruments and maintenance and
d. Study visit to National Weather and Flood Warning Center (NWFWC) that is operational for 24/7.

Closing ceremony was held today (24 August 2018) in the Energy Conference, MOEA complex. Certificates for participation to participants were awarded by Dasho Chewang Rinzin, Dy. Chamberlain to His Majesty The King/Director, Royal Institute for Governance and Strategic Studies (RIGSS), Phuentsholing, Bhutan.

Dasho also visited the National Weather and Flood Warning Center (NWFWC) that is operational for 24/7.
