Australia Awards Regional Alumni participants’ visited National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology, November 27, 2018.

Australia Awards Regional Alumni participants attending regional workshop in Thimphu visited NCHM, Head Office, followed by visit to National Weather and Flood Warning Center (NWFWC) today morning. The team was welcomed by the Director and Chiefs of Division from the Center. The session began with welcome address by the Director of NCHM followed by highlight on the purpose of the visit to NCHM by Mr. Rod Sollesta, Deputy Team Leader, Australia Awards South and West Asia, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The participants were briefed on overview of NCHM and early Warning Systems in Bhutan through presentation followed by discussion. The team also visited National Weather and Flood Warning Center operational for 24/7.

The field trip to NCHM was organized by the Australia Awards Bhutan office as a part of the Regional Australia Awards Alumni workshop held in Bhutan from 26-29 November, 2018 in Thimphu.
