National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology

A team consisting of the Director, National Center for Hydrology & Meteorology (NCHM); Chief HOID, NCHM; TMO FWS, HOID, NCHM and other officials of the Center attended the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Flood Warning Site office/ sediment lab at Zamtari on Jormri (Dhansari) under Jomotshangkha Dungkhag, Sandrup Jongkhar. The site office was constructed under GOI program of the Center. The Director, NCHM inaugurated the site office on 6th December 2018 in the presence of Dasho Dungpa of Jomotshangkha, Gups and Tshogpa of Serthi & Langchenphu Gewogs and the local public who attended the simple ceremony.

The event also served as an important platform for NCHM management to meet with local government authorities and public of local area to solicit their goodwill and support for NCHM’s endeavors to serve the Nation.

After the inauguration, the team from NCHM also made official site visit to hydro-Meteorological stations in south eastern Bhutan (Jomori and Nyera Amari sub-basins). The stations in Thrimshing, Deothang, Jomotshangkha (Daifam), Samdrupcholing (Bangtar) were visited on this leg of the official tour. The visit was to inspect the condition of hydromet stations at remote locations, meet with the site staff to learn about the practical issues and to build strong rapport with management and site staff.
