Advisory on Cyclone ‘AMPHAN’

Time of Issue: 7:30 PM

The cyclone “AMPHAN'' completed its landfall by 7:00 PM (BST) as an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm. Currently, the cyclone is crossing West Bengal coast Digha and Hatiya Islands, Bangladesh and to the Sundarbans. The system is likely to move North-Northeast. Under this system Bhutan has started experiencing overcast skies and light rainfall. 

During the next 48 hours (21-22nd May), moderate rainfall is likely over northern, western and central parts; and moderate to heavy rainfall across southern and eastern parts of the country. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely over isolated parts of the country during the same period.
