Advisory on Rainfall

Date of Issue: 23 May 2020

Time of Issue: 4:00 PM

A Western Disturbance lies over the Western Himalayan Region and is moving eastwards. There is moisture feeding to the system from the Bay of Bengal. 

Under the influence of the system, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely over southern parts of the country during the next 72 hours (24-26 May). Rest of the places can expect light to moderate rainfall during the same period. Gusty wind is likely over isolated parts  of the country. 

Due to heavy rainfall, there are possibilities of flash floods/floods and landslides in the isolated areas of southern parts of the country.
