The very Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘TAUKTAE’ (pronounced as Tau’Te) formed as a low pressure on 14th May, 2021 has made a landfall over South Gujarat Coast on the night of 17th May 2021. It lay over Saurasthra at 00 UTC of today 18th May, 2021. It is very likely to move north-northeastwards and weaken gradually into a cyclonic storm by next 12 hours.

Impact over Bhutan:

The Westerlies are still dominant over Bhutan. There is a forecast of light rain over the country due to the western disturbance. The westerlies may cause a peripheral impact of the cyclone over Bhutan. Cloudy weather with light to moderate rain across the country is likely during the next 48 hours.
