The low pressure formed on 1 December 2021 over the central part of the Andaman Sea has intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘JAWAD’ (pronounced as JOWAD) at 12:00 PM BST today (3rd December 2021) and lies over the west-central Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move north-northwestwards, intensify further and reach the west-central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast by tomorrow (4th December 2021).

Due to this system, Bhutan is likely to receive light to moderate rain from 5 to 7 December 2021. There is also a possibility of snowfall over high-altitude areas during the same period.
