The cyclonic storm ‘JAWAD’ lies over the west-central Bay of Bengal as of 12 PM BST (4 Dec 2021). It is likely to weaken gradually and move along the Odisha coast reaching near Puri around 5th December noon as a deep depression. Thereafter, it will weaken further and move along the Odisha coast towards the West Bengal coast. The cyclone is not expected to have a direct impact on the country. However, it is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall when it reaches North East India.

In addition, a western disturbance is likely to impact the weather in the country from the evening of 5th December 2021.

Due to these systems, the country is likely to receive light to moderate rain from the evening of 5th to 7th December. There is also a possibility of light snowfall over the high-altitude areas during the same period.

Updates will be issued if there are any significant changes.
