Southwest summer monsoon has been active, since its onset on 3rd June, over the country. There are observations from the stations receiving moderate to heavy rain from a few places in the southern parts of the country. Due to the continuous rainfall over the past few days, many roadblocks, landslides and increase in the water level have been reported from a few places in the south and  eastern parts of the country.

Owing to the active summer monsoon prevailing over the country, there is a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall over a few places of the south during the next 3 days. Rest of the country is likely to receive light to moderate rain. Therefore, flash floods and landslides are likely over isolated places of the country especially in the south during the next 3 days. Issued for public information to take precautionary measures.
